What Is the HENNGE Global Internship Program?

HENNGE’s Global Internship Program is an onsite software engineering training program at the company’s headquarters in Tokyo, Japan.

Participants work directly with HENNGE engineers and receive hands-on training rather than being assigned routine production work. The focus is on learning, technical development, engineering fundamentals, and collaboration.

The program runs:

• Duration: 4–6 weeks
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Working hours: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM JST
• Location: Tokyo, Japan

Choose Your Engineering Pathway

Applicants must choose at least one pathway when applying.

Full-Stack Pathway

The Full-Stack Pathway is designed for candidates who want to develop skills across backend, frontend, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps.

Participants will work on full-stack applications by developing backend APIs and frontend interfaces while learning about:

• Python
• Go
• TypeScript
• React or Vue
• AWS
• Linux and Unix-like environments
• Security
• State management
• Testing

• Container technologies

• Infrastructure as Code

Full-Stack Internship Flow

Weeks 1–3: Full-Stack Application Development Project

Week 4: DevOps & Infrastructure Project

Weeks 5–6: Special Assignment, depending on the batch and internship schedule

During the program, interns receive continuous feedback from mentors and are encouraged to improve their technical decisions, problem-solving approaches, and engineering practices.

Front-End Pathway

The Front-End Pathway focuses on modern web development using TypeScript and frameworks such as React and Vue.

Participants can strengthen their knowledge of modern frontend development while learning how frontend applications connect with backend services and cloud infrastructure.

Who Can Apply?

The program is aimed at university students, recent graduates, and early-career engineers.

Essential Qualifications

Applicants should:

• Be a third-year undergraduate student or higher, including Master’s and Doctoral students;
• Recent graduates are also welcome to apply;
• Be pursuing or hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field;
• Have equivalent technical experience through an internship or bootcamp if they do not have a Computer Science degree;
• Have fluency in English;
• Have proficiency in Python, Go, or React/Vue with TypeScript, depending on the pathway;
• Have knowledge of Linux, macOS, or other Unix-like environments;
• Be interested in open-source projects or technology communities;
• Be interested in pursuing a career in Japan.

Technical Experience

Candidates should meet at least three of the following criteria:

• Experience with cloud computing platforms, especially AWS;
• Experience developing full-stack web applications;
• Knowledge of distributed systems;
• Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices;
• Experience with CI/CD;
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code;
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker.

Internship Assignment
